BELINDA SCHWEIGERT
FOR JUSTICE OF THE PEACE

Meet Belinda Schweigert
I was born in Havre, MT. My dad, Gary Bebee, moved our family to Livingston in 1970 when he became affiliated with Franzen Davis Mortuary. I graduated from Park High School in 1980 and attended some college at MSU and worked at a few law firms. My mother and my other dad, Chuck and Betty Burdette, live in Wilsall, MT.
My husband of 34 years, Tom Schweigert, was born in Livingston and also graduated from Park High School. He retired from the City of Livingston Water Department, as a foreman, after 30 years. I received my Manicure License from the Board of Barbers & Cosmetology in the summer of 1991 so that I could work locally, as Belinda’s Nail Corner. Our two children were raised in Livingston and graduated from Park High School. We were involved in their many school and sport activities. Due to physical issues after 18 years with this business I needed to change my career.
I have worked at Gallatin County Justice Court for 15 years and would like to further my career by becoming your Justice of the Peace, serving Park County. My training and experiences will be very beneficial in becoming your Park County Justice of the Peace.

My Qualifications
In 2009 I began my career at Gallatin County Justice Court.
I have worked in many areas of the office, including Courtroom Clerk. I have spent countless hours in court sessions as a clerk to the Judges and enjoyed both clerking and discussing cases with the Judges. I am familiar with all court hearings, including Motions Hearings, Judge trials and Jury trials, and Finding of Fact and Conclusions of Law. There are specific timelines in every situation. I am also familiar with the Administrative Rules of Montana, Rules of Evidence, Montana Code Annotated.
I have an excellent relationship with my Judges, Supervisor and co-workers, as well at the attorneys and other agencies that we work with.
I also have an excellent working relationship with the Supreme Court Office of Court Administrators personnel. This is the IT support for our computer program, Full Court Enterprise. I was invited to join the Montana State Court of Limited Jurisdiction Automation Committee in February of 2017 and remain a member of the Committee to date. This is the committee that governs the computer program used by Justice Courts, Municipal Court and City Courts. There are between 5-7 members of this Committee statewide. I have also attended many National Conventions focused on the court program.
